The Nine Spiritual Principles for Getting Everything You Want.

Dr Dyer needs no introduction given his prodigious output of self-development books, all with a spiritual bent - this title is no exception.  While his recent books tend to re-hash his earlier works, this one retains its freshness - an oldie but a goodie.  He intends for you to read this as a handbook and then apply his nine principles for spiritual manifestation immediately.

"When you know that you are responsible for how you chose to react to every life situation, and that you are essentially alone within yourself at all moments, then you can very privately put out into the Universe that which you want to bring to yourself."

If you disagree with his basic premise -'your destiny is to become a co-creator with God', then this book is not for you.  Accepting this premise, the nine principles are: Becoming aware of your higher self, Trusting the Universe, You are inseparable from all that is, You attract what you desire, Honouring your worthiness to receive, Connecting with unconditional love, Meditation, Detachment, and Cultivating an attitude of gratitude.

Wayne Dyer is big on 'love', affirmations, visualisation and meditation.  He borrows from a variety of religious teachings to make his case, while incorporating some moving pieces of poetry.  Despite some contradictory messages (desire motivates / desire is just ego), his arguments are robust and his style connects with his audience.  His discussion on self-honesty, self-acceptance and self-worth easily justifies the price of the whole book.

According to Dr Dyer, "manifesting is not about making demands of the Universe - it is a cooperative venture in which your intention is aligned with divine intelligence."  His cookbook approach simplifies the ways you can cooperate.  The Universe awaits you.
