How can I tell if life coaching is right for me?
- Have you given up on your dreams?
- Are you feeling lost, overwhelmed, or uncertain about how to achieve what you want?
- Do you feel discontented, thinking, "There's got to be something better than this.?"
- Do some areas of your life feel out of control, off-balance?
- Do you want assistance with staying on track - setting goals, managing your time/resources, and creating a great life?
- Do you know you can do better for yourself than you are right now?
- Are you in a state of transition (relationship breakdown, job change, relocation) and would like extra support or
guidance?
- Have you got a whole lot of ideas that might work but don't know where to begin?
If you answered ' Yes' to any of the above questions, the Coach can help you work out what's most important to you, break goals down into do-able steps and solutions, and take each step with full support.
The key ingredient is YOU - your willingness to change what you are doing and physically take action towards what you want. Achieving anything requires imagination, confidence, courage and persistence, be it learning to tie your shoelaces or launching an international airline.
Coaching could be the difference that makes a difference for you. You'll deal with someone you can discuss things with and who will support, challenge and encourage you along the way.

Why is life coaching effective for people like me?
Perhaps you have a specific goal such as finding more fulfilling work, realising a heartfelt desire, getting a promotion, or discovering your 'life purpose'. In these cases, coaching is especially useful as it can really help you plan strategies to achieve these outcomes. The Coach suggests tactics and actions to head you in the right direction.
If you don't have specific goals, the Coach helps you clarify what really matters to you - what you believe in, what you value and what makes you happy - then you have an idea how to make your life more enjoyable and rewarding, now and in the future. Your coach helps you transform all that untapped potential into a daily reality.
Life coaching is effective for people like you because you have the courage to make changes in your life. People like you know that an investment in your future self is money well spent.

I have several problem areas in my life - is coaching appropriate for all of them?
If you want to improve or transform your personal life, career, financial situation or business then coaching is very effective. For complex relationship or health issues, counsellors and therapists may be more appropriate.
It can happen that when you start improving one area in your life, others become highlighted as also needing some attention. The Coach will coach you when it's fitting and refer you to other professionals, as required.

Wouldn't I be better off getting help from family and friends?
What is so powerful about coaching is that your Coach provides an objective, non-judgemental, clear and unbiased view of you that you wouldn't get from others. Also, your Coach has a wide variety of coaching tools to assist you, plus a broad sweep of life experience and knowledge that you can tap into.
It seems as if the world rewards mediocrity and encourages 'small poppy training' - we are taught to think small while we may be capable of much more. Those around us may be cautious and discouraging because they think it will save us the heart-ache of disappointment. Plus, our lives are getting busier and more complex - your family and friends may not have the time or be available just when you need them most. While those close to you care for you and mean well, they probably are not trained to help you like the Prosperalot Coach.

What's the difference between life coaching and counselling?
Life coaching and counselling are similar in that you are asked lots of probing questions. Where a counsellor offers explanations about your past which can't be changed, a coach offers you solutions to improve or transform your life from here on. Where a counsellor focuses on your history, a life coach focuses on your present, your future plans and how to optimise your opportunities right now.

How much are Coaching fees and are they tax deductible?
You can expect to invest $400-600 for a block of coaching sessions to put you on track effectively. An article in Super Living magazine (2007) explains the differences between counselling, psychotherapy and life coaching, plus their typical fees. Read the article HERE.
The Australian Taxation Office does allow coaching fees to be tax deductible where the coaching directly impacts income. Read their policy statement HERE. Contact your accountant for further clarification.
What happens during the coaching process?
Initially, your Coach will undertake an inventory of where you are in your life, including your beliefs, values and the rules you live by. You will be asked lots of questions about your current and future goals - what you want, why you want it, when you want it and how to get it. Then you'll complete exercises between sessions - some written, some purely observational, some self-searching - nothing you can't handle.
Where you are frustrated, confused or discouraged, the Coach will suggest strategies, tactics and alternative approaches to help you find solutions that work better for you. Your coach will help you to focus on your strengths, your natural skills and talents and figure out what matters most in your life. Expect to be respectfully challenged to question your limitations and increase your self-awareness.
The Love the Life You Live coaching program assists in this process. This is a ten-step program, but you may find you don't need to complete them all. Most clients complete at least the first four steps and find that sufficient - others go further, depending on the complexity of their goals. For those who prefer, a take home workbook is available in which you can read through the various exercises and prepare written material in your own time. Each session begins with a debrief covering your 'homework' and what's been happening in your life since the previous session.
Coaching requires you to take action to achieve your goals. To take action requires commitment and the willingness to overcome obstacles until success is yours. You and your Prosperalot Coach will discover what steps need to be taken, while you get to decide when you're ready and willing to do so.

How often will I talk to the Coach?
Beginning with weekly sessions allows the necessary time in between to think about what's been discussed. Some people have very busy schedules and need more in between time - this can be adjusted to suit.
Unlimited email support is provided so you can ask questions and receive feedback anytime, no matter where you are in the world. If you have internet access but find phone charges prohibitive, you can arrange to talk to the Coach using Skype or via a chat room such as yabberchat.com. Email coaching has its limitations, but can be used if all else fails!

What's best for me - a set program or ad hoc coaching?
The Love the Life You Live coaching program is a ten step process, of which the first four are the most critical. If you have not been coached before, committing to completing the first four steps will achieve a better life balance. During that time, you can steer the coaching process towards whatever areas need the most attention - your Coach will adapt the program to suit. Also, there's a substantial coaching fee discount for committing to the first four steps. Even so, there are no contracts to sign - you're in control.
Thereafter, you can be coached irregularly, usually on an hourly basis. Long-term clients are charged a pro rata hourly fee, as required.
If you've been coached before, you may wish to employ the Coach ad hoc , that is, a session at a time - the choice is yours.

Are there any guarantees?
Life coaching is growing fast as more people discover the advantages for themselves. According to coaching psychologist Dr Anthony Grant ( Macquarie University ), results from his study published in 2001 found:
"a life coaching program can facilitate goal attainment,
improve mental heath and enhance quality of life."
If you keep doing what you're doing, you'll get more of what you've got, definitely! But when you improve the ways you habitually think and act, then your life will change for the better.
You'll be surprised, exceed your own expectations and make yourself proud.
On top of that, YES there is a GUARANTEE . After a month of weekly coaching, if you believe you're not progressing then Prosperalot Coaching will refund all your fees.
